Working with CTAS

A considered start. A defined engagement.

A useful working relationship begins with the work to be done, the information needed and clear responsibilities. The details depend on the services agreed.

From inquiry to engagement

What to establish together.

Discuss the work

Start with your business or professional circumstances, the support you need and any known deadlines. An inquiry is an opportunity to discuss fit; it does not start a service engagement or extend a filing or response deadline.

You can begin with a general description. Do not attach sensitive records to the first inquiry.

Agree the engagement

The engagement agreement defines the services, relevant periods and jurisdictions, responsibilities and terms. Ongoing accounting and focused tax work may have different requirements; related services are included only when specifically agreed.

Clarify what is included, what remains your responsibility and how additional work would be agreed.

Provide the information

The records and authorizations needed depend on the work. Accounting may require statements and transaction support; tax preparation may require tax documents and prior returns; representation may require notices and authorization.

Agree how records and access will be provided before sending sensitive information.

Carry out the agreed work

CTAS performs the defined services using the available information. Questions, review, authorizations and timing depend on the engagement. Incomplete information or changes in circumstances can affect the work.

There is no universal reporting schedule, turnaround promise or package of services.

One relationship does not mean every service is included.

Bookkeeping, tax preparation, tax planning and representation have distinct scopes. The agreement identifies which services are included and what information each requires.

No stage shown here promises a fixed response time or a standard package. Matter-specific dates and delivery expectations need to be discussed directly.

Start a conversation

Let’s discuss the work.

Tell us what you need, what is already in place and where you would like support. We can discuss fit and the scope to agree before starting.

Discuss your needs

Keep an initial inquiry general. Please do not send account numbers, tax returns or other sensitive records.
